Welcome to Galazio

Hello, Yiasas, Opa!

My name is Dionissios (Dion) Gressis, proud owner and one of the original founders of Galazio Restaurant, formerly known as Ouzo’s Greek and Regional Cuisine. From an early age, I was surrounded by the aromas and flavors of authentic Greek cooking, thanks to my mother, Asimina Gressis. It was her passion for food that inspired me to encourage her to open our first restaurant, and in April 2002, Ouzo’s was born.

For over a decade, we served Charles County with traditional Mediterranean dishes and unforgettable experiences—from Easter celebrations and DJ nights to belly dancing, late-night Black Friday events, and even cooking classes.

In 2010, amid the U.S. economic crisis, my late brother Iossif Marios Gressis made a bold move. He rebranded the restaurant and added our now-famous brick oven pizzas, creating what is known today as Galazio Restaurant.

In 2015, I embarked on a new chapter, teaching internationally in Asia and Germany. But life took an unexpected turn. After my brother’s untimely passing in 2021, I returned home with my wife and child to take over the family restaurant—leaving behind a fulfilling role at the International School of Stuttgart. It was a time of immense grief and transition, but my commitment to Galazio was stronger than ever.

Now, in 2025, I continue to lead Galazio with a singular focus: honoring our traditions while delivering exceptional food and service.

At Galazio, we are guided by five core values:

  • Food – prepared with only the finest ingredients like extra virgin olive oil, authentic Greek feta, and mountain oregano.
  • Service – warm, friendly, and professional.
  • Atmosphere – welcoming, comfortable, and authentic.
  • Cleanliness – a spotless environment that reflects our respect for our guests.
  • Professionalism – in every detail, from the kitchen to the table.

We’re honored to share our heritage with you and welcome you as part of the Galazio family.

With gratitude,
Dionissios Gressis & Family
